VisioGene

Visiogene harnesses artificial intelligence and biomarker analysis to deliver precise, accessible retinal diagnostics that empower healthcare professionals, particularly in underserved regions.

VisioGene is an experimental research initiative that integrates artificial intelligence with ophthalmic diagnostics to enhance early detection and clinical decision-making in retinal healthcare. The project investigates the efficacy of AI models in identifying and classifying 13 major retinal diseases — including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, and hypertensive retinopathy — from retinal fundus scans. By comparing AI-driven diagnostic outputs with assessments made by medical professionals, Visiogene seeks to evaluate precision, reliability, and potential integration pathways for AI-assisted screening tools in real-world clinical environments.

Beyond its technical foundation, VisioGene aims to bridge the gap between computational innovation and clinical application. The project follows a research-driven, prototype-testing methodology to design a diagnostic companion tool that supports ophthalmologists in timely and accurate disease detection. Through this multidisciplinary approach, Visiogene envisions a future where technology complements medical expertise to make eye care more accessible, data-driven, and efficient for all.
